President Dr Mohamed Muizzu visited the National Thalassaemia Centre this morning, met patients, listened to their concerns, and observed daily operations to improve thalassemia care.
During his visit, President Muizzu met with the patients at the blood transfusion center and listened to their concerns.
He assured them that the administration would act to resolve these issues and take steps to find solutions to the problems as soon as possible.
The President also met with the staff and inspected the condition of the center. He then directed the heads of the relevant agencies to take necessary measures as soon as possible.
The President's timely visit to the Centers came after protests were staged at the Center demanding the resignation of the current management of the Thalassaemia Center.
The protesters accused the Center of not stocking the injections needed for Thalassemia patients and not using correct filters during blood transfusions.
