Maldives Customs Services say they have seized drugs worth MVR 800,000 that were being smuggled into the Maldives via air.
Customs said that the drugs were seized from Velaana Internationa Airport and that the drugs weighed around 1097 g.
It also said that the drugs had been identified as cannabis and that the street value of the drugs stood at MVR 877,600.
Meanwhile, customs seized drugs worth MVR 6.7 million on Wednesday. Customs said the drugs seized weighed a total of 3.534 kg.
They seized 2,138 grams of methamphetamine, 1,086 grams of ketamine and 310 grams of heroin.
