The Parliament's Public Accounts Committee has approved the dismissal of the Deputy Governor of the Maldives Monetary Authority MMA Ahmed Imad.

His dismissal was submitted to the Parliament's Committee by the MP for Dhihdhoo Constituency, Abdul Latheef Mohame,d who insisted that the Parliament should advise President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to dismiss Imad.

The case said that he did not fulfill the responsibilities enshrined in the law during the tenure of the then MMA Governor Ali Hashim.

The case also alleges that Imad has refused to fulfill his responsibilities.

MP for Kelaa Constituency Abdullah Shareef from the Committee moved that the case be forwarded to the Parliament floor and this was seconded by MP for Henveiru Constituency Ahmed Aifan.

Majority of the Committee voted in favour of forwarding the case to the flood with only two committee members opposing the vote.
