Police have arrested two local men for doing black magic against the Raa Atoll Council Office in Ungoofaaru of the same Atoll.
They said they had come across a video of two people doing black magic at the Atoll Council Office courtyard and that they had investigated the video.
The video which was circulated on Wednesday showed a man watering the courtyard of the Office while another man watched on. The video also showed pedestrians walking in the streets in the background.
In its latest update, Police said they have executed an arrest warrant and have apprehended two men for allegedly doing black magic.
Police said that they arrested 61-year-old Mohamed Amjad and 67-year-old Mohamed Waheed and that they are both originally from Ungoofaaru.
They also said that both suspects have now been remanded in custody for 15 days.
Crimes related to black magic and witchcraft have grown common in the Maldives in recent years.
Last Thursday, Police searched 10 houses in Kulhudhufushi City and found tools related to black magic from 8 houses.
