The Health Ministry has launched an investigation into a hospital in the Greater Male' area after sensitive and private information about a patient of the hospital was leaked yesterday.
Yesterday, the whole country was shocked after a Facebook page shared pictures of a patient stating that the patient had a body spray bottle stuck in his rectum.
The page also shared a picture of the patient's X-ray which showed where the bottle was stuck along with his identity information.
Many people have expressed concern that this is a violation of healthcare rules, and have condemned the release of a patient’s information and called for an investigation.
The Health Ministry responded by saying that it was investigating the hospital responsible for the leak. The Ministry did not clarify which hospital it was investigating.
However, local reports have stated that the man sought treatment at the Hulhumale' hospital and that his information was also leaked from the hospital.
