Police have arrested a man who left without paying after eating at a restaurant.
Police said that the person was arrested yesterday and that the Criminal Court has remanded the suspect 10 days in police custody.
Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Yasin Rasheed from Alifu Dhaalu Maamigil.
The suspect is being accused of obtaining an unauthorized service.
It was reported that the suspect agreed that he had eaten at the hospital and left without paying. The suspect said that he had tried to call his brother to help him pay the bill but left as his brother's phone was off.
The suspect also said that he had transferred the bill amount to the restaurant later.
However, the investigating officer noted that the bill had not been paid. Yasin had been going to cafes before and had not paid his bills after eating, the investigating officer said, citing the family.
