Police confirmed that a man was attacked with a hammer near Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital IGMH last night.
They said that the incident was reported around 08:41 and that assailants attacked the man on a motorcycle. Police also said that the victim was rushed into IGMH immediately for treatment.
Police did not reveal any information about the injuries the man had sustained.
They said that no one had been arrested in connection with the case but that they were further investigating it.
Such cases of violence have grown common in the Maldives especially the Greater Male' Area.
A dangerous fight broke out between foreigners at Tasir Cafe this afternoon, one of whom was seriously injured. The case is also being investigated.
