Police have launched an investigation after a top official of a resort in Laamu Atoll was assaulted.
They said that the official was assaulted from behind while the victim was riding a bike and that the person was hit on the head. Police said this incident was reported to them on the 2nd of this month.
They said no one had been arrested in connection with the attack but noted they were further investigating the case.
Reports have confirmed that the incident occurred at the Six Sense L resort and that the assailants had covered their face during the attack.
Social media reports have also said that the victim of the attack has been identified as Rthe egional General Manager of the resort.
But official channels have yet to confirm these reports as the motive for the attack remains unclear.
