The main opposition MDP has called on the relevant authorities to investigate the case of filling up a fake form in the name of Vikaradu MP Hussain Ziyad to register him to the ruling PNC.
In a statement today, MDP said several of its general members as well as national congress members have been registered to PNC after they were omitted from the MDP registry.
MDP said that this has now been brought to the attention of the Elections Commission.
The Party also voiced concern over the recent changes to the Constitution which combats anti-defection and that a sitting MP might lose his/her seat because the Commission accepted a fake form.
It also said that has asked the EC to stop processing PNC forms submitted by forging people's signatures to achieve its bid to reach 100,000 members as announced by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
MDP further called on relevant agencies to investigate and take action against attempts by the ruling party to stop thefts from the DNR database and influence state agencies to add members to the party.
