President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Fuad Thaufeeq of Machangolhi Thalamudige as the Maldivian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand today.
The President presented Fuad Thaufeeq with his credentials during a ceremony held this morning at the President's Office.
Before he was appointed the Maldivian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, Fuad Thaufeeq served as Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Fuad Thaufeeq has also previously served as the Chairman of the Elections Commission.
Meanwhile, President Muizzu also appointed Abdul Haseeb Ismail of Hulhumalé Hiyaa, 11-23-05, as a member of the Elections Commission.
The President appointed Abdul Haseeb Ismail to the Elections Commission membership by Article 167(a) of the Constitution, which establishes the Elections Commission, and Article 168(b) of the Constitution, along with Article 4(a) of Law No. 8/2008 (Elections Commission Act).
The letter of appointment was presented to Abdul Haseeb Ismail by the President during a ceremony held this morning at the President's Office.
Prior to the presentation of the appointment letter at the ceremony, Abdul Haseeb Ismail took the oath of office as a member of the Elections Commission in front of the President.
The oath was administered by Honourable Dr Azmiralda Zahir, Justice of the Supreme Court of the Maldives.
