A man who was arrested after he attempted to stab another individual has been remanded in custody till the end of his trial.
Police arrested 33-year-old Hussain Faaiq on the 22nd of this month when he attempted to stab another individual in Hulhumale' Phase 1.
He had also attacked a police officer who had attempted to stop him from stabbing the civilian.
Police said today that when the suspect was taken to the Criminal Court for his remand hearing, the court decided to lock him up till the end of his trial.
A video of Faaiq's arrest has been circulating on social media in which the suspect appears to be handcuffed with two policemen standing beside him.
The suspect is then taken into a police vehicle when a person from the background calls out that the suspect is mentally unstable.
Police is continuing to further investigate the case.
