Authorities in the Maldives are frequently conducting such raids to weed out illegal migrants as the Administration looks to decrease the number of documented foreigners in the country.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu revealed recently that this administration has deported more than 5,000 illegal migrants in its one year in office and that this number is higher than that of the last three years combined.
