Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure says it has completed the dredging work for Gulheefalhu.

The Ministry said that 174 hectares of land were dredged under the project, and by March 2020, 42 out of those 174 hectares had been dredged.

It also said that under the second phase of the project, 132 hectares were completed in April 2024.

The Construction Ministry said the project also included beach protection works. It said so far, 2.66 km of beach protection work has been completed.

The project is one of the largest projects undertaken by the government to solve the land crisis in the capital.

The Ministry said that the project will change the size of the city's land area and that the area will increase housing and business opportunities.
