President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated former US President Donald Trump after he won the US Presidential Elections.
President-elect Trump carved a path to victory by winning the swing states of North Carolina, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. He is now expected to make a historic return to the White House and become the country's 47th President.
His opponent and current Vice President Kamala Harris is yet to concede or address supporters.
In his congratulatory message to Trump via X, President Muizzu said the Maldives and the United States share a strong partnership based on mutual respect, goodwill, and understanding.
President Muizzu said that he looks forward to strengthening cooperation, addressing mutual challenges, and working towards advancing global peace and prosperity.
