Three people were injured when a speeding motorcycle lost control and crashed on the Southern island of Gaafu Dhaalu Nadella.
Police said the report of the accident came around midnight last night. They said that the motorcycle was speeding on the jetty road of the island and that the speeding cycle hit a man standing near a parked pickup on the road.
Police said three people were injured in the crash including the motorcycle rider (18), the passenger (18) of the crashed cycle as well as the man (47) they hit.
They said all three were initially treated at Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo City. Police said the motorcycle rider and the man hit while standing near the pickup has been transferred to Male' for more treatment.
Police said the motorcycle rider did not posses a valid driving licence.
They added they were further investigating the case.
