President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced the formulation of a masterplan, in accordance with regional best practices, on the application of artificial intelligence for economic advantage.
He made the announcement upon the recommendation of his cabinet.
The master plan consists of risk management in utilizing AI and the design of a legal framework on AI technology.
The decision was made, after deliberations during the cabinet meeting held on October 16, 2024.
At the meeting, President Dr. Muizzu also decided that upon the formulation of the master plan, relevant documentation would be presented to the cabinet by the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
