The Prosecutor General's Office has filed six charges against the driver of the race car that crashed near the Vinares Flats in Hulhumale'.

The driver of the race car, Ibrahim Ikram was arrested after the accident in July in which he crashed into a civilian on a motorcycle after the race car he was driving spun out of control.

Video footage of the accident near the Vinares flats in Hulhumale' showed that the suspect was driving at a high speed.

Ikram was charged with assault, causing a person to fear serious bodily injury by a person’s negligent act, property damage, property damage, failure to report an accident, and failure to assist a person in need without reasonable cause.

The state is also charging Ikramu Rahman, another suspected arrested in the case. The charges include failure to report an accident, failure to assist a person in need without reasonable cause, participation in injury, and participation in causing fear of serious bodily injury to a person. He was also charged with involvement in property damage, including property damage.

A third suspect named Jinah Ismail was also charged. The charges against him include complicity to cause injury, complicity in causing a person a fear of serious bodily injury by a person’s reckless act, complicity to cause damage to property, and complicity to damage property.
