Immigration says they have arrested 6 more expatriates as they continue raiding illegal businesses run by expatriates in the Greater Male' Area.
It said two local markets were raided in ongoing operations targeting expatriates running businesses illegally yesterday.
Immigration said that during the operation a total of 6 expatriates had been taken under their custody. It said that the detained individuals included four male and two female expatriates.
Immigration added that these operations would continue without halt as they look to bring the hammer down on illegal expatriates and illegal businesses run by expatriates.
Immigration has been teaming up with the Police to conduct raids on suspicious business activities involving illegal expatriates in the Maldives.
Last Wednesday, the Special Task Force conducted a raid operation in Male' following intelligence about running possible prostitution businesses which led to the detention of two Vietnamese women.
Last week, Immigration led a special raid operation near the USD ATM in Male' and detained two illegal expatriates who were extensively involved in foreign exchange activities were detained for further investigation.
