Police have arrested 4 individuals in anti-narcotics operations carried out in Male' and Hulhumale'.
They said that operations were conducted following a tip-off received by the police intelligence regarding an alleged drug trafficking case.
Police detailed that two operations were carried out on Saturday and that during the operations, two apartments, one shop, and one warehouse in Male' were searched. At the same time, another apartment in Hulhumale' was also searched.
They said the places were searched under a court order and that police seized 13 packets containing what is believed to be drugs.
Police also confirmed that the 4 individuals arrested included a 36-year-old, a 44-year-old, a 46-year-old, and a 54-year-old. They further added that all the suspects were local.
They said that the Criminal Court has remanded the 46-year-old for 7 days in Police custody while the rest has been remanded for 15 days.
The police Drug Enforcement Department is investigating the case.
