President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has emphasized that the most important prospects for a prosperous Maldivian economy are the unique combination of the strategic placement of Maldivian waters on the world map, its natural beauty, and abundant resources and wealth.
He made the remarks in a social media post today, on the occasion of the World Oceans Day.
This year, the Administration is conducting various prominent events to celebrate World Oceans Day. These events include a quiz competition, an information session titled "Kan'dufalhah loa hulhuvamaa" organized by the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, a "Discover Dive" aimed at children and a nationwide swimming program titled "Emmen Moodhah".
The Administration is organizing other events, such as the "Kan'du Roadhi Ufaa Festival" in Hulhumalé.
This year's theme for World Oceans Day is Catalyzing Action for Our Ocean & Climate. The World Oceans Day is marked annually on June 8.
