Police have confirmed that a tourist died today after going for a dive at the Tiger Shark Diving Point in the Southern City of Fuvahmulah.
They said that the male tourist from China was rushed to Fuvuhmulah Hospital after he felt unwell in the diving boat following his dive and that the incident was reported around 11:26 this morning.
Police also said that the hospital confirmed that the victim was declared dead on arrival. They clarified that the victim was 70 years old.
Police added that they were further investigating the incident.
Diving accidents are common in the Maldives which has the world's most beautiful and popular diving sites.
