Privatization and Corporatization Board PCB has confirmed the resignation of the Chairperson of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation MMPRC Aisha Nurain Janah.
News broke last night that Nurain had resigned from her post at MMPRC. No reason was given for her resignation.
Today PCB posted on X saying that it had received Nurain's resignation letter and hence accepted her resignation. PCB also did not comment on why the former chairperson resigned from her post.
Nurain was appointed as the chairperson of MMPRC on 27th December 2023. She is the eldest daughter of the famous businessman and the President's trade advisor Mohamed Ali Janah.
She caught the public's eye after an interview of her speaking fluently in English went viral here in the Maldives with many praising her fluency and understanding of the tourism industry.
Nurain spent a lot of her years in New Zealand where she was involved in high-profile posts and social justice work.
