Elections Commission says as of 16:00, 103,257 voters are yet to cast their ballots in the parliamentary election being held today.
The Commission had said before that voting would be held from 08:00 am to 17:00.
In its latest update, the Commission said that 181,406 voters had cast their ballots in the election and that this amounts to 63.7 percent of the voting population.
The Commission said those who voted included 88,230 women and 93,176 men.
It further said the 103,257 voters yet to cast their ballots amounts to 36.27 percent of the voting population. A total of 284,663 voters are eligible for today's parliamentary election
Today's election is being held to elect 93 MPs to the 20th Parliament of the Maldives.
A total of 368 candidates are vying for the 93 seats including 130 independent candidates.
