Former President Abdullah Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has urged all voters to choose candidates who would remain loyal to the religion and the country in tomorrow's parliamentary election.
In a post on x, the former President said that he sincerely urged voters to think before they cast their ballots and to choose who they would think would remain loyal to their religion and country.
Maumoon has a vested interest in tomorrow's election as two of his children are vying for parliamentary seats in tomorrow's election.
Former Presidential Candidate and MP Faris Maumoon is competing for the seat of Mahchangoalhi North Constituency while former Foreign Minister Dhunya Maumoon is vying for the parliament seat of Hulhumale' South constituency.
Both are competing as independent candidates.
Voting in the parliamentary election would be held tomorrow from 08:00 to 17:30 in the evening with over 600 ballot boxes placed across all 93 constituencies.
