Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal says if the opposition secures majority seats in the upcoming Parliamentary elections, they will do nothing but hinder President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the Maldivian government.
He commented while speaking at a campaign held for the PNC Candidate for the Fonadhoo Constituency.
The Minister said President Muizzu came into power with the vision of mega developmental projects and intended to change people's lives.
Faisal said to achieve this, the government would need a parliamentary super majority and that it request the people to help them secure it.
He implored youths to take part in voting and help the government secure a super majority in the Parliament.
Speaking at the rally, President Muizzu said that he aims to fulfill the pledges he made to the people during his Presidential Campaign and that he will bring results.
The President said that this could easily be done within the Parliament and that it was vital that the government is represented in the Parliament.
The President also stressed that Parliament is a place where important tasks and decisions involving the interests of the people are required, such as legislation, amendments and budget approval.
