President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has promised to provide insurance services to the public through a better system.
He said this while answering a question from a member of the public who asked the President about insurance services to the public. Since the beginning of last month, the President has been answering daily video questions from regular citizens.
In his question, Hussain Thaufeeq of Gaafu Dhaalu Ghulzaaruvaadhee said that civilians have to pay around MVR 11,000 to take out a health insurance scheme but still have to pay for medical consultations.
He asked the president for a solution to the problem or to make the insurance company pay the bills directly.
In response, the President said that the insurance system has been shaped under a certain set of rules. He promised to share the concerns of Thaufeeq with the relevant authorities and also to refine the public insurance system for the betterment of the people.
