Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih says the people are now regretting their electoral decision and they are looking for ways to get themselves out of the trouble that it has caused.
The former President made these remarks at the ceremony held to open the campaign office of MDP Candidate for Gahdhoo Constituency Ahmed Saeed last night.
Emphasizing the need to secure the majority of the seats in the upcoming Parliamentary elections, Solih said that the country has lost its way and the most important thing to bring it back to the correct path is for the opposition to secure the majority of the parliament.
The former President said that the lies and allegations made by this administration in their bid to come into power are now unraveling and that the people are now seeing the truth.
He added that he has been receiving this same message from his trips to the inner islands.
Solih said that he was confident that MDP would be able to secure the majority seats of the parliament in the election and that the parliament was the most important avenue for the opposition to hold this administration accountable for its actions.
He said that there would be many challenges when holding the government accountable but the opposition must remain steadfast in their aim.
