The People's National Front PNF formed under the leadership of former President Abdullah Yameen has submitted the 3,000 membership forms to the Elections Commission as required under the Political party law.
The Vice President of the Commission Ismail Habeeb said PNF submitted 3,060 forms within the time given under the Political Parties Act.
Habeeb also said that the Commission has begun verifying the forms and that once the party has 3,000 members as required by the law, it would be allowed to hold its first rally.
PNF initially submitted its application on the 26th of November and the Elections Commission permitted to form the party on the 29th of November.
Since then it has been collecting membership forms and at one point one of the founders of the party and former Minister Maleeh Jamal said that the party would hold its first rally once former President Yameen is freed from his jail sentence.
However, the party submitted its forms today with the deadline set by the Elections Commission only two days away.
