President's Office has announced the government's official working hours for Ramadan 1445 and the first seven days of Shawwal.

It said that government offices would be working from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. during Ramadan and the first 7 days of Shawwal.

It also said that this was in line with the directive issued by former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih back in March of 2022, changing the government working hours in Ramadan and the first 7 days of Shawwal to four hours.

The President's Office urged government offices to try and finish the daily work within the given time frame.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has also issued a decree that states that all government offices would be closed for the last 10 days of Ramadan. This was a pledge made by the President during his Presidential campaign.

Ramadan is set to begin on the 17th of March but the beginning of the Holy month will officially be announced by the Islamic Ministry later this month after the Ramadan moon sighting takes place.
