The main opposition party MDP says it will be officially launching its campaign for the upcoming Parliamentary Elections at a special rally scheduled for tomorrow night.
MDP stated that it had named its parliamentary campaign 'Misraabu Hama magah' (Direction to the right path) at a rally to be held at the Artificial Beach tomorrow night.
MDP invited all the citizens to its rally that would kick off at 08:30 p.m.
The Party is competing for 89 of the 93 seats of the 20th Parliament. It won't be contesting for Fuvamulah North Constituency, Thaa Guraidhoo Constituency, Felidhoo Constituency, and Nilandhoo Constituency.
However, MDP had not stated why it was not contesting for these parliament seats.
The Elections Commission is trying to hold the election on the 17th of March which is also the 6th of Ramadan. But the Parliament led by MDP had recently passed a bill that prohibits the electoral watchdog from holding any election during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Bill is now at the President's Office awaiting President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's ratification.
