President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced the upcoming upgrade of the Ihavandhoo Health Center to incorporate dialysis services, preceding the establishment of Ihavandhoo Hospital.

He made these remarks while speaking with the residents of HA. Ihavandhoo Island during his current tour of several islands in the Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani, and Noonu Atolls.

The President emphasized the establishment of a high-quality hospital within the year, aligning with his commitments to strengthen the healthcare system.

His announcement came after the island's Council and Women's Development Council WDC formally requested that the President prioritize the enhancement of health services on the island during their meeting with the President.

At the meeting, council members raised several critical issues and priorities. These included the urgent requirement for an integrated waste management system on the island, seamlessly connected to the national waste management policy.

Additionally, they emphasized expediting the hospital project, addressing road construction needs, installing revetments, initiating housing projects, establishing a campus for higher education, upgrading banking and electricity network services, and creating sporting facilities on the island.
