First Lady Sajidha Mohamed unveiled the logo for the Home-based Food Producer at a ceremony held this morning at the Islamic Center's meeting hall.

Speaking at the event, the First Lady remarked that the launch of the logo will provide people working from home with opportunities to expand their businesses, particularly those owned by women. She also highlighted that the logo aims to ensure food security and increase public confidence in safety by adhering to the MFDA's standards.

The First Lady emphasized the BCC's initiative with the Food and Drug Authority as a significant step towards benefiting the domestic industry by creating the logo. She stated that such joint efforts by the concerned agencies will help the country reach greater heights of progress.

Concluding her speech, she urged expediting the Food Security Bill, pending in Parliament since 2021 to become an Act soon to ensure its effective implementation. She added that this step would aid the welfare of the people and the country’s progress.

To earn revenue, people can apply for the logo of the Home-based Food Producer via the Dhirithi portal, linked below. The BCC has formulated and gazetted the policy of issuing the logo for Home-Based Food Producers to earn revenue.
