The first session of “Ahaa,” the public forum of ministers, will be held at Sultan Park tonight. This event is organized by the President’s Office in collaboration with the Public Service Media (PSM).
This forum serves as a platform for the public to engage in discourse and ask questions about public policy to the Ministers.
The Ministers participating in tonight’s forum are the Minister of Economic Development and Trade; Mohamed Saeed, the Minister of Islamic Affairs; Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, the Minister of Social and Family Development; Dr Aishath Shiham, the Minister of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation; Abdulla Rafiu; and the Minister of Construction and Infrastructure, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib.
The meeting will be held at the Sultan's Park tonight at 08:00 p.m. Members of the public are invited to physically take part in the meeting and pose their questions to the Minister. The public can also send in their questions through phone, SMS and social media platforms.
President Muizzu previously announced that the Ministers will hold public forums every two months to inform and update the public on the Government's initiatives and answer direct questions from the public. He also stated he would meet with the community in the same form and hold a forum to address the community’s concerns every three months.
Open forums such as the “Ahaa” forum tonight are among President Dr Muizzu’s Presidential pledges and aim to inspire his Administration to engage closely with the community and carry out its responsibilities as transparently as possible. When these forums are broadcast, the public can view the live streams and contribute to the discussions via social media.
