Police say they have begun the search for a woman reported missing from Villimale.
Police identified the woman as 36-year-old Mariyam Ramiza from Dhaalu Meedhoo who is currently living in V. Luckystop of Villimale'.
They said that the missing woman was last seen on the night of 23rd January around 09:00 p.m. and that her family said that she was last seen at the house she is currently living in.
Police said that her family filed a missing persons report last night around 08:37 p.m. and that they have now launched a search for the missing woman.
Police urged the public to contact them via Police hotline number 3322111 or Villimale Police Station via 9833000.
Missing persons' cases have grown in recent months with both adults as well as children being reported missing frequently.
While most cases have been resolved successfully, some result in tragedy as in the case of Mohamed Azhan who was reported missing in September of 2022.
His remains were found the following month in a land plot yet to be developed in Phase 1 of Hulhumale'. He was reported missing from Phase II of Hulhumale. His case remains unsolved.
