A man who was injured in a motorcycle crash in the Southern City of Fuvahmulah has succumbed to his injuries.
The crash happened last Friday night.
Police said that preliminary investigations show that the accident had occurred when a speeding motorcycle had veered out of control and crashed into a wall on the street.
Police said that a 30-year-old local man was injured in the crash and rushed to Fuvamulah Hospital for treatment.
The victim was then transferred to the capital Male' and admitted to the state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for further treatment. The hospital had said on Sunday that the man was in critical condition while some media reports said that he was on ventilator support.
The man passed away earlier today while under treatment for his injuries sustained in the crash.
Police continues to investigate the crash.
