State-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital IGMH says the victim of a motorcycle crash in Fuvahmulah City is in critical condition.
Police said today that they received the report of an accident on Bodufannu Magu of Fuvahmulah City around 10:15 p.m. last night.
Police said preliminary investigations show that the accident had occurred when a speeding motorcycle had veered out of control and crashed into a wall on the street.
Police said that a 30-year-old local man was injured in the crash and rushed to Fuvamulah Hospital for treatment. They confirmed that the victim has now been transferred to Male' for further treatment. Police did not clarify whether the person injured in the accident was riding a motorcycle when it crashed or not.
The man was transferred to IGMH for further treatment. A media official from the hospital confirmed that the man was in critical condition. Some media reports said that the man was on ventilator support.
Police are further investigating the accident.
