The National Drug Agency NDA is seeking private parties that would establish and operate rehabilitation centers in the country.

This comes after the government decided to privatize the operation of rehabilitation centers last month.

In an announcement, NDA said under the 'Drug Act', the Agency can grant permission to private parties to establish and operate treatment centers in the Maldives.

NDA said that under the law it reserved the right to permit such parties if they express interest to establish and operate treatment centers stipulated in the law.

The Agency listed several services that must be included in the proposals submitted by the parties which include;

  • Providing outpatient detoxification services
  • Providing Psychiatric evaluation
  • Providing Counseling
  • Providing Psycho-social therapy
  • Drug testing
  • Psychological assessements

The Agency invited interested parties to submit the registration form along with their proposal before 1:00 p.m. next Sunday.

NDA has also scheduled an information on the matter for 10:00 a.m. next Tuesday at the agency's head office.
