Ministry of Health says DNA testing is now available under the National Health Insurance Scheme Aasandha.
The Ministry said that this service began as part of the government's 'Hafuthaa 14' roadmap to further enhance health sector services to the public.
While DNA testing is available today, Aasandha now facilitates free annual checkups for Maldivians above the age of 50.
The government has also said it would begin free annual check-ups for those between 35 years and 49 years as well as those below 19 years in April of this year.
The government has also begun sending patients with Thalassemia to get bone marrow surgery from abroad.
