President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has promised to arrange land plots in the industrial island Thilafushi for those who do fiberglass work in Villimale'.

He made the promise while speaking at a campaign rally held for Male' City Mayorship Candidate from PNC Aishath Azima Shakoor in Villimale'.

President said that the last administration had not given its cooperation to remove the motorboats docked on Villimale's lagoon and now this issue has been resolved.

Noting that some families in Villimale' are actively involved in Fiberglass work, President Muizzu said that even if the work is carried out in isolation it still poses health threats to the community and that land plots would be allocated in Thilafushi for such work.

He explained that the work to relocate such workers is already underway and that within 6 months all those who do fiberglass work in Villimale would be shifted to Thilafushi.

The President said that many of the changes he wished to bring to Villimale' were halted by the lack of cooperation by the previous administration and that this includes allowing residents to build their homes up to 10 stories.

He said that the government would resolve this issue for the residents of Villimale.

President Muizzu also said that the government plans to build a tertiary hospital in Villimale and that the hospital would offer all the services and facilities of a tertiary hospital.

The President assured that the government has major plans for the development of Villimale and if the residents elect a mayor for Male' City who opposes the government, it would be difficult to bring about these changes.
