Police say a man reported missing yesterday has gone to the Police Station in Hulhumale' Phase II on his own amid the search for him.

Police said earlier today 30-year-old Muhrath Ali from Gumreege, Noonu Miladhoo was reported missing by his family yesterday and that they last had any contact with him on Sunday.

Police said that the search for the youth, who according to his family worked on a landing craft in Thilafushi, was underway.

In an update just now, the Police said that the missing man had reported himself to the Police Station in Phase 11 of Hulhumale'. Police added that he was well.

Police did not reveal any other information about him.

Missing persons' cases have grown in recent months with both adults as well as children being reported missing frequently.

While most cases have been resolved successfully, some result in tragedy as in the case of Mohamed Azhan who was reported missing in September of 2022.

His remains were found the following month in a land plot yet to be developed in Phase 1 of Hulhumale'. He was reported missing from Phase II of Hulhumale. His case remains unsolved.
