President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Hassan Mughnee as a member of the Privatization and Corporatization Board PCB, exercising the authority granted to him by Law No. 3/2013 (Privatization, Corporatization, Monitoring, and Evaluation of Government Businesses Act).

Hassan Mughnee holds a Master of Business Administration with a major in International Business (Finance & Economics) from Massachusetts, USA, Brandeis International Business School.

His previous roles include serving as Minister of State for Environment, Climate Change, and Technology, as well as holding the position of Managing Director at the State Electric Company (STELCO).

Yesterday, President Muizzu appointed Hamdhy Ageel as the President of the Privatization and Corporatization Board.

Hamdhy Ageel graduated with a Master of Commerce from Australia's Curtin University. He previously held the position of Managing Director at Maldives Road Corporation and also served as the Managing Director of Fuel Supply Maldives.

The President had also appointed three other members to the PCB which has been in limbo for the last three months as by law it needs five members to have a quorum for the meetings.

In the last three months, PCB has been operating with just three members.
