President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed three new members to the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB)

He made the appointments to PCB in accordance with the authority granted to him by Law No. 3/2013 (Privatization, Corporatization, Monitoring, and Evaluation of Government Businesses Act),

The new members of PCB include;

  • Ahmed Mushthag, Accounting and Finance Sector
  • Leena Abdul Jaleel, Banking Sector
  • Moosa Fathuhy Adam, Business Administration Sector

Out of these members, Fathuhy was appointed as a State Minister at the Local Governance Ministry and he was the PPM candidate for the Komandoo Bi-election held last year.

Meanwhile, Leena Abdul Jaleel is a high-ranking official at the Maldives Monetary Authority MMA and has also acted as CEO of Business Center Corporation under the Economic Ministry.

Under the law, the PCB must have five members for it to have quorum for meetings but the board has been working with just three members for the last three months.
