President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu says this administration's central principle for debt management is to expand the economy.
The President said this in a meeting with the Minister of Justice of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Abdullah Bin Sultan Bin Awad Al Nuaimi.
During the courtesy call, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu thanked the Minister for participating in the Presidential Inauguration yesterday.
He conveyed his best wishes to the President and Prime Minister of the UAE, stating that the UAE is a crucial development partner of the Maldives, highlighting the close ties between the two countries.
The Minister of Justice of UAE congratulated President Dr Muizzu on his assumption of office and expressed keenness to enhance cooperation between the two nations.
The President underlined the administration's foreign objectives, noting that the foreign policy aims to increase engagements, deepen dialogue, and establish mutually beneficial alliances. He also spoke on the Maldives' debt and disclosed that the administration's central principle for debt management is to expand the economy.
During the call, the President expressed gratitude to the leadership and government of the UAE for their support and assistance for the Maldives' socioeconomic growth.
The Minister of Justice of UAE also extended an official invitation to President Dr. Muizzu to participate in the 28th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP28 UAE) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) at Expo City Dubai later this month.
