Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Mohamed Fulhu says he will be stepping down from his post starting next Sunday.
The Commissioner said that he has already decided to resign from his post and has handed over his resignation letter to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Commissioner Ahmed thanked for the cooperation given to him in the last three years and 10 months.
He said that he worked in his capacity to make Maldives Correctional Services a strong and capable organization during his time as the Commissioner of Prisons.
The Commissioner said that it was an honour to work to achieve the targets set by the Correctional Services and he wishes the best for the organization.
He added that he would be visiting all the prisons tomorrow.
Commissioner Ahmed was appointed to the post in 2020.
While the Commissioner of Prisons announced his resignation, the Managing Director of Fenaka Ahmed Saeed Mohamed also announced today that he would be stepping down from his post.
He said that he would step down starting next Friday. The new President is set to take his oath of office on Friday and he is expected to make his own appointments at the head of State-owned companies.
