Telecommunication giant Ooredoo has announced the first ever drone race to be held in the Maldives – Ooredoo Drone Race, as part of the fun and exciting activities planned for the Ooredoo Fun Run 2023.
The announcement was made at a special press conference held today at the Ooredoo Headquarters in Hulhumale'.
Ooredoo said that the Drone race would be held in Hulhumale' during the morning hours of 22nd December 2023 and that it promises to add a new dimension of excitement to the festivities of the Ooredoo Fun Run.
It further said that this thrilling timed race challenges participants to navigate through a specially designed drone racing track that includes obstacles and hoops to reach the finish line in the fastest time. The Company said that registration details for Ooredoo Drone Race will be announced soon on Ooredoo's official social media channels.
At today's press conference, Ooredoo also opened the registration for Ooredoo Fun Run 2023. It said that the registration will close on 30th November 2023.
The company said that its Ooredoo Fun Run kits will be available in two categories;
- Standard kits priced at MVR 100 come with a Fun Run T-shirt and wristband.
- Fun kits priced at MVR 200 include a Fun Run T-shirt, wristband, cloth bag, eyeglasses, and a multipurpose bandana.
Ooredoo Fun Run – The Happiest Run in the Maldives is a fun-filled 5K run designed to be enjoyed by families and friends of all ages. The run is set to be held in Hulhumale’ on 22nd December 2023. As an untimed and fun-filled 5K, the event welcomes both new and experienced runners to join in the excitement. Each kilometer covered will be celebrated with a unique fun station with colors, water, and fun obstacles.
As the run is not a timed event, participants can choose to walk, jog, run or dance to the finish line, where their efforts will be celebrated in style with a foam party, finisher medals & a music show.
