Housing Ministry says they have received more than 40,000 application forms in the second phase of the Housing Scheme in Male' area, the Gedhoruverin, with both flats and land plots up for grabs yet again.
The Ministry opened the application for the second phase of the housing scheme on the 24th of last month and the deadline for application was set for today.
It said that the Ministry received 40,594 application forms for 4,000 land plots and 8,000 flats to be given in the second phase of the scheme.
Speaking to 'The Press, State Minister at the Housing Ministry Akram Kamaaludeen said that the 40,594 forms include 19,347 forms for land plots and 21,247 for flats.
While land plots under the second phase of the Gedhoruverin scheme would be awarded from Uthuru Thila falhu, flats would be awarded from the Greater Male' area.
Under the first phase of the housing scheme, 9003 individuals from Male' were given land plots. The Ministry is currently giving the land registries to those who received land plots and it plans to wrap up the work by the 5th of next month.
