The Opposition Coalition says President-Elect Dr. Muizzu will meet his well-wishers at an event to be held tonight.

They said that the event was scheduled to take place at the Social Center and that it would begin at 08:30 p.m. The Opposition Coalition said that all the Maldivian people are invited to greet and meet their new President.

The meet and greet event was first scheduled for last night at the Artificial Beach area in Male' but was postponed due to bad weather.

Muizzu secured the Presidency for the next five years after an overwhelming victory against incumbent President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in the 2nd round of the Presidential Election held last Saturday.

Muizzu claimed a total of 129,159 votes out of the 246,915 votes cast in the election and President Solih secured 109,868. The Elections Commission data showed that there was a difference of 19,291 votes between the two candidates.

Muizzu who is also the Mayor of Male' City is set to take the oath of office on the 11th of November according to President Solih.
