Police say they have no update on the search for the missing youth from Male'.
They identified the missing youth as Ali Rishan from Hunoovilla, Alifu Alifu Maalhos.
Police said that his family reported him missing last Friday. Police also said that his family informed them that the missing youth now lived in Male' and that he last contacted his family almost two weeks back.
Speaking to "The Press", Police said that there was no information on the missing person and that the search continues.
Police asked the public to contact its hotline number 3322111 or Naifaru Police Station number 9792187 if they have any information about his whereabouts.
Missing persons' cases have grown in recent months with both adults as well as children being reported missing frequently.
While most cases have been resolved successfully, some result in tragedy as in the case of Mohamed Azhan who was reported missing in September of 2022.
His remains were found the following month in a land plot yet to be developed in Phase 1 of Hulhumale'. He was reported missing from Phase II of Hulhumale. His case remains unsolved.
