Police say they are searching for a 35-year-old local man missing from Hulhumale'.
They said that the missing man has been identified as Mohamed Thaufeeq from Haa Alifu Baarah who is currently living in Hulhumale.
Police said that his family reported him missing last night around 1:35 a.m.
They said citing the family that Thaufeeq was last seen on the 22nd of this month around 11:00 pm at his apartment in Hulhumale' Phase II. His family said that he was last seen wearing a red checkered shirt and blue jeans.
Police asked the public to contact its hotline number 3322111 or Hulhumale Phase 2 Police Station number 9393351 if they have any information about his whereabouts.
Missing persons' cases have grown in recent months with both adults as well as children being reported missing frequently.
While most cases have been resolved successfully, some result in tragedy as in the case of Mohamed Azhan who was reported missing in September of 2022.
His remains were found the following month in a land plot yet to be developed in Phase 1 of Hulhumale'. He was reported missing from Phase II of Hulhumale. His case remains unsolved.
