MP for Guraidhoo Constituency Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon says this administration has lost its political sway and that the whole of Huvadhoo Atoll (Gaafu Alifu and Gaafu Dhaalu) was with PNC Candidate Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Gaafu Alifu Kolamaafushi, MP Ghassan said that he visited the country 15 years back for a campaign trip and the state of the island is much more different from back then.
Ghassan said that back then it was a struggle even to get on the island and that he was genuinely surprised by the spirit shown by the people of the island.
In his speech, the opposition MP criticized the government saying that the current administration had no political sway anymore.
He said that no one would listen to those who have no political sway regardless of how much they campaign.
MP Ghassan said that the reason why the administration lost its political sway was because it did not fulfill the pledges it made when it came into power.
He said that the pledges made by politicians to the people were a contract between the two and that while the people has fulfilled their part, the government has failed to fulfill its pledges.
